Welcome At Breathing Space our aims are to help people into business and work. We help people, particularly those who are disadvantaged, to succeed. We help them to overcome barriers, to progress in their lives and connect or re-connect with the world of work, training and education. We are a registered charity.
Our mission statement is “Inspiring people to greater achievement through positive attitudes and self-belief”. I want to maintain the excellent reputation and unique approach of Breathing Space in helping to break down the barriers and remove some of the mystique that prevent people becoming self employed. I also want to encourage and empower people in Walsall and the wider Black Country to explore entrepreneurship so as to play a part in restoring drive and purpose to the region as part of the regeneration initiative. Our provision includes training and one-to-one support in business skills, job search skills, reading and writing skills for business, coaching & mentoring for business and personal development. Most of our services are free to those people who register with us. Simply, we want people to succeed in work.
............Glennys Davis, General Manager, July 2010 Overview Breathing Space helps approximately 700 people each year. Our services are available to everyone. We can support all start-up and existing businesses. Because of our extensive research, teaching methods and educational tools, we have great success in helping to overcome barriers particularly those faced by inexperienced and disadvantaged people wanting to start a business and run it successfully. Much of our work is carried out in the West Midlands with most conducted in the Walsall and Sandwell areas although our developing outreach work is taking us much further afield. Our base is at 34 Green Lane, Walsall although we work at other locations depending on the needs of our clients such as schools, colleges, local community organisations – even client homes where necessary.
Our premises provide training, meeting and coaching / counselling rooms, a fully equipped IT suite as well as business administration and office services. If you would like to know more please either look at the other items on this site or you can download our 2009 prospectus below.
